In an unprecedented last minute shake up of teams due to the pulling out of starting line up regulars Anne I. and Sven I. of FC Bayern München and Michael J. of VfB Stuttgart for private matters (as far as the SNBBF is aware neither newborns, weddings nor funerals were the cause of it) bowling newby Claus D. (SV 07 Elversberg) and seasoned player Hartmut D. (VfB Stuttgart) crunchingly were drawn in the Bayern München hemisphere leading to further tremors in other teams participating in the “Meisterschaft” (in Bundesliga-Bowling in Singapore). Going in as underdogs, FC Bayern München II came out on top in the end thanks to a compelling team spirit and the stellar performance of their star player Kell W..

Starting the league phase with a loss against FC Bayern München I (91.3 to 97.0) the newly assembled second team then managed a convincing victory against Bundesliga All-Stars (122.5 to 102.7) and beating VfB Stuttgart narrowly (116.0 to 115.0) in the tightest and hottest contested match of the afternoon. FC Bayern München I around veterans Florian O. and Jörg S. with new signing Jürgen S. dominated the league phase with further victories over VfB Stuttgart (117.0 to 106.0) and Bundesliga All-Stars (120.0 to 110.7). While (2.) Bundesliga All-Stars only managed a first round win against VfB Stuttgart (105.3 to 91.8) the latter was without any win in the league phase, nor in the final round either. Of course (2.) Bundesliga All-Stars suffered from the handicap of having two lower league players, Markus B. of Hamburger SV and Felix F. of 1. FC Köln with only Christoph W. of SC Freiburg having longer 1. Buli experience as of late. VfB Stuttgart’s fall from graces however came completely as a surprise as top stars Marcus H. and Dietmar K., totalling 530 and 520 pins respectively over the whole afternoon, were partnered with wild card Steven L. and wild player Logan, both clearly not up on par for the current “Pokalsieger”’s (in Bundesliga-Bowling in Singapore and soon in Berlin as well) expectations.

In the final round VfB Stuttgart then lost clearly against (2.) Bundesliga All-Stars (115.3 to 107.3) whereas FC Bayern München II turned the tables on FC Bayern München I with a stunning victory (118.3 to 107.7). Particularly Jürgen W., mostly having come to fame as ball carrier for Kell W., outperformed with his best score of the night having more than doubled from the first match and secured the victory. And Claus D. put in a likewise solid performance for the first time reaching over 100 pins in a game.

Sadly again, the SNBBF was called into action as some sore losers drew comparisons between the Bundesliga-Bowling in Singapore organizers and Fifa, despite the apparent difference in hair count. Neutral SNBBF investigations have revealed no wrongdoing on the part of the organizers as overall average pins incidentally matched the final rankings (FC Bayern München II 448.0, FC Bayern München I 441.7, Bundesliga All-Stars 434.0, VfB Stuttgart 420.0) with all teams having at least on sub-333 player except record chain champions FC Bayern München I of course. However, going forward for transfers and any last minute changes players will be allocated an X-score (expected score) based on past performances to even out the teams.

Leading with an X-score of 565.0 is Kell W., safely en route to become this year’s “Torschützenkönig” followed by Marcus H. (X-score 531.5). Former golden boot winner Hartmut D. is a distant third (X-score 484.5) followed closely by Markus B. (X-score 481.5). For “Torschützenkönig” still the total pin score will be relevant to avoid players only playing one match day and then winning the coveted, currently still non-trophy title. For the tech geeks: Hartmut D.’s all-time highest golden boot win 2017 with 1634 pins would transfer into an X-score of 544.7, so the record is bound to fall.

With none of the long-term absent players currently indicating an imminent return to Bundesliga-Bowling in Singapore, the next and final round of season 2024/2025, albeit a bit delayed, is scheduled for Saturday, 16.08.2025 with the “DFB–Pokal”, a sure to-be-won for the Boys (and Girls) from Cannstatt. Wax your bowling balls, tie your bowling shoe laces and practice your one-armed arm rises (for the beers).
