In the battle for the DFB-Pokal (in Bowling in Singapore) SpVgg Eintracht Braunschweig Waldhof Mannheim (Eintracht Waldhof) came out on top with a win in the final over VfB Stuttgart with 130 to 110. Third place was secured by SpVgg VfL Bochum BVB Dortmund (VfL BVB Pott) against HSV with 109.5 to 106.5.
Already the group phase was dominated by the later final winner, but the results were much closer with 117.5 to 111 against HSV, 128 to 115 against VfL BVB Pott and 133.5 to 126.7 against VfB Stuttgart. VfB Stuttgart came in second in the group phase as well with victories over VfL BVB Pott (119 to 113) and HSV (107 to 86). And even in the group phase VfL BVB Pott came third with a victory over HSV 110 to 80.
The results overall showed that Eintracht Waldhof was a well deserved winner and hopefully the other teams will recover quickly to mount a counter challenge in the upcoming 2017/18 Bundesliga season (in Bowling in Singapore). More details will follow.
Later that night, after the bowling, all participants visited the Bundesliga season finale at Brotzeit Vivocity, Singapore. Bayern München was crowned champion. HSV missed their season target of relegation closely by staying in 1. Bundesliga directly. VfB Stuttgart secured on the next day their return to the top league of German football and Eintracht Braunschweig will try their luck in the relegation against VfL Wolfsburg later this month. So an interesting 2017/18 season lies ahead of us!
