Following a “Stammtisch” breakfast end of July in Zürich, Switzerland, and before repeating another “Stammtisch” one and a half weeks later in Katzenbacher Hof, Vaihingen, Stuttgart, 1. VfB Stuttgart Fanclub Asia had a full program. “Fanclub on Tour” was the motto with visits to Ambacher Hütte (the Dynamo Dresden flag flying high there was a bit disturbing, but given that Dresdner Hütte is the next hut on the trail it is at least understandable), Winnebachseehütte, Gänsekragen (2915m) in the Ötztaler Alpen. And, VfB Stuttgart training in Neustift, Stubaital, at the same time a visit to check on the “Boys from Cannstatt” was a must as well.
Back in Singapore the season started with the GESS Welcome Fair followed by the Bundesliga Kick-Off at Brotzeit, Raffles City. More on the quiet side, the AGM 2017 took place at Swiss Club with the launch of new electronic membership cards and changes in the Committee with a new Vice President, Sandra, and Treasurer, Nicolai, being confirmed in their respective positions. Meanwhile, Fanclub backpacks have been added to the successful range of Fanclub merchandising ranging from home (white), away (Red) and third (Black) shirts over wristbands to basecaps.
And then there was the football of course. After having a chance to catch the season opener against Hertha BSC Berlin played in the German capital at Brotzeit simultaneously to the VfL Wolfsburg vs. BVB Dortmund game, the Fanclub had to resort to home watching for the following games. And, given the upcoming match schedule as well as the clear preference to show Bayern or Dortmund games, this may still continue for a while.
