Last minute entry into the competition “RB Kaiserslautern Kerala” won the coveted cup against “VfB Stuttgart 2” in a tight final with 129.3 to 121.7 average pins. Football cup winners “Eintracht”, with some help from the Braunschweiger Eintracht, came third against VfB’s Stuttgart’s 1st team (127.3 to 75.0 in the final round) and football champions Bayern in the newly formed “Waldhof Werder Bayern” team put recently promoted 1. FC Nürnberg (115.3 to 75.0 in the final round) back into the relegation zone.
Group phases dominated by the two cup finalists
The win of “VfB Stuttgart 2” against “Waldhof Werder Bayern” with 114.3 to 111.3 had been one of the tightest games of the evening. Against “Eintracht” the Boys from Cannstatt however made it crystal clear who is the deserving winner, score: 131.0 to 114.0! And, in what they called the “real final” the “Eintracht” then had the upper hand over “Waldhof Werder Bayern” with 120.7 to 118.3.
In the other group “VfB Stuttgart 1” and “1. FC Nürnberg” were no match for “RB Kaiserslautern Kerala” who won both games clearly (133.7 to 85.3 and 122.0 to 101.3). Stuttgart’s youth team, excluding Dirk, however showed the Club the ropes with 90.3 to 87.0.
Golden boot award to Roland H.
Best player of the match day was Ruben (RB Kaiserslautern Kerala) with 522 pins, but over all three match days Roland H. (Eintracht / VfB Stuttgart 1 / BL All Stars) won the golden boot with a whopping 1614 pins followed by Hartmut D. (VfB Stuttgart 2) with 1577 pins and his teammate Sasha D. with 1473 pins.
