For the first time in the history of Bundesliga-Bowling in Singapore the tournament was played with single player teams representing Singapore’s very own “Young Lioness(es)”, Cologne’s “Geisböcke”, the “Stern des Südens” from Munich and of course the ”Boy(s) from Cannstatt”. Dominating beginning to end veteran bowler Hartmut D. of VfB Stuttgart managed a total of 11 strikes and 17 spares totaling 647 pins. With Kell W. of the Young Lioness(es) unexpectedly underperforming with 449 pins in total, it was left to Jürgen W. (537 pins) and Felix F. (441 pins, but winning the final 3rd place match) to fight for silver and bronze (not that there are any medals for that, lol).

In the first round of matches the family feud was clearly settled in Jürgen W.’s favour with FC Bayern München winning 154 pins against the “Young Lioness(es)”’ 118 pins. Likewise, Hartmut D. of VfB Stuttgart, not one time scoring a game below 150 during the match day(!), despatched Felix F. of 1. FC Köln 156 to 106 pins. Second and third round matches saw wins of “Young Lionness(es)” (128 to 94 pins) and FC Bayern München (130 to 121 pins) over 1. FC Köln, but both teams succumbing to VfB Stuttgart's dominance on that day (93 to 181 pins and 125 to 153 pins, respectively. So, after the league phase VfB Stuttgart lead the table with 9 points, followed by FC Bayern München with 6 points, “Young Lioness(es)” with 3 points and 1. FC Köln dead last without a single victory.
However, the “Geisböcke”’s luck turned around in the last match of the day beating the “Yong Lioness(es)” 120 to 110 pins. Needless to say that VfB Stuttgart drove in (I love German English!) another victory beating FC Bayern München 157 to 128 pins.

Based on X-Scores a completely different outcome was expected however with Kell W. (134.2) clearly leading over Jürgen W.(123.9), Hartmut D. (123.5) and Felix F. (97.4). Still, the SNBBF will continue to develop the X-Score system with all stakeholders to ensure that motto “Gottes grösste Gabe, ist und bleibt der Schwabe” faces fair competition favouring Swabian teams over others.
After match day 2 the “Torschützenkönig” table turned around 180 degrees with Hartmut D. now leading with 1,270 pins followed by Jürgen W. with 1,207 pins and Kell W. with a meager 1,150 pins.
