Less than three months after securing the DFB-Pokal in the final in Berlin against Arminia Bielefeld, VfB Stuttgart also managed to win the coveted DFB-Pokal in Bowling in Singapore. After winning “Champions League” and “Meisterschaft” earlier this year, FC Bayern München was eyeing the triple, but was clearly denied by the Boys from Cannstatt’s first team.

This was the last match day of the 2024/2025 season as match days were delayed due to scheduling problems. For 2025/2026 organisers are however hopeful to align the match days with the regular season again.
Starting into the afternoon with the first ever draw between VfB Stuttgart 1 and VfB Stuttgart 2 teams squaring off at 104.0 each, FC Bayern had a good start winning against tournament favourites Bundesliga All-Stars 109.8 to 92.5 (X-Score* 95.9 to 115.23). After round 2 and 3 games it seemed to go all in the “Rekordmeister”’s way as typical “Bayerndusel” was on their side winning against VfB Stuttgart 1 113.0 to 112.8 and dispatching VfB Stuttgart 2 124.8 to 95.7. Also, Bundesliga All-Stars seemed to get back on track with a win over VfB Stuttgart 2 by 112.0 to 108.3, but then VfB Stuttgart 1 started one of the biggest catch ups ever seen in the history of Bundesliga Bowling in Singapore. Seeing their furs float away, they managed a 126.3 to 119.0 victory against Bundesliga All-Stars and then sent the “Stern des Südens” falling in the final game of the day with 112.5 to 96.3. VfB Stuttgart 2 managed a victory over Bundesliga All-Star 115.7 to 111.0 securing third place, making this year’s “DFB-Pokal” in Bowling in Singapore a successful event for the Schwaben-Teams.
Individually, the big surprise of the evening was Kell W.’s lacklustre performance, not only loosing out to Jürgen W. and drawing with Sven I. on match day performance, but having also lost overall “Torschützenkönig” to Marcus H., who turned around a 67 pins deficit after match day 2 into a 14 pin victory at the end of the day. This year’s “DFB-Pokal” also saw a record number of new signings and free transfers, so chances are good that the next season will see an expansion from 4 to 6 teams per match day. Finally, we say goodbye to Bowling regular Christoph W., who will transfer his Bowling ball and shoes to Germany in the next few weeks.
